Friends Church List Purpose and Faith Statement

Purpose

This list was created for Friends to discuss current events, trends, new ministries, job openings, etc. in an evangelical forum. Participation in this list implies that the subscriber acknowledges the following:

• God is the Creator, whom we worship with reverence.
• Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God redeems us from sin.
• We testify that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.
• We ask the Spirit to fashion our lives in accordance with Jesus' teachings.
• By God's grace forgiven, we hear our Lord's call to holiness of heart and life.
• We seek to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
• We affirm the Church as the body of Christ.
• We believe the Spirit who inspired the Scriptures is their faithful interpreter. Thus, true leadings of the Spirit will never contradict the Scriptures.
• Thus Spirit-guided, the Bible is authoritative for our faith and practice.
• Christ is present to lead and guide the Church in Biblical faithfulness.
